Where can I find (or make!) a "silver surfer" surfboard for a costume?
I'm looking for a surfboard to use for a costume party. I'll be going as the silver surfer. I'm pretty sure I will not find a silver surfboard anywhere, but was looking to spray or paint a cheap (and not real!) surfboard to do the job. Is there anywhere I can purchase a foam or inflatable surfboard typed item? I've looked at swimming floats, but the largest i've found is 19"/48cm long, and I'd preferably like it larger than that (about 100cm+?) Anywhere I can purchase this? Or any other ideas for making a surfboard? As its for a costume (and I'll be carrying it around all night) it doesn't have to be perfect! Price range, I'm looking for no more than about £20GBP. Also, I am in the UK so preferably stores and websites from the UK, but have time to look further afield. Thanks, Amanda

- you can get a regular surfboard and spray paint it.

- get a piece of plywood and cut it to size or maybe a piece of plastic... lightweigh and cheap.. hmm
- I don't live in the UK, but my suggestion would be to visit your local home improvement store and look for some large foam insulation sheets and depending on the thickness, you may have to glue two together and then cut out a surfboard shape and then paint to your liking. Be careful of the paint you use, some spray paints will melt styrofoam, not sure about the foam insulation, do a test sample on a remnant piece first. Have fun and be creative!
