- The right answers depends on where you surf and how much you surf. Rule of thumb is to start with a board at least 15 cm longer than you are tall when you are getting started. If in doubt go with a board that has more floatation, rather than less. Good starter shapes are hybrid, funboard and longboard (which will be 9ft). Most folks I surf with that are around your size ride boards in the 6-6 tp 6-8 range. Thickness should be at least 2 7/16 for adequate floatation. Brands we like here are Roger Hinds, Rusty, and Al Merrick. If you can do it, buying a locally shaped board is a great way to go.
- that depends if your a beginner or not. if you are, go with a fun board, around seven feet. that way once you get your bearings you can either go to a short board or a long board. if your a good surfer, go with a shortboard. as for brand, thats something your gonna have to choose buy instinct. besides, price isnt everything.
- Is this how people in the metric world buy boards? By price range? Really? wow...
