San Diego area surf fishing?

im going to be staying in Las playas de Tijuana for a few months (february-april) and i was wondering what to use for bait there when surf fishing during this time period. obviously surf fishing is different than pier fishing, but as far as i know, there arent any piers in Las Playas, so i will be confined to surf fishing (unless i take a day to go fishing in San diego, but thats besides the point) so basically my question is, what should i use for bait for surf fishing in the san diego area, and what can i expect to catch? thanks for the help!

  3. You answered my question about come-a-longs and asked if I might be able to help with your question.. I wish I could.. I am just not familair with that sport. I did see a movie once though with Stephen Dorrf called Blood and Wine.. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115710/ Him and his friend fished from the back of their truck and caught a big shark.. maybe you could see what they used for bait.. I can't remember. That's the total of my knowledge on surf fishing though. Hope it helps. good luck and have fun on your trip.
