Surfing
teaching a beagle to surf?
i wanna try to teach my beagle to surf, does any1 have any techniques on training it to surf. my dad my brother and i all surf and i thought it would be kool to teach my dog to surf. hes about almost 3 months old. i have a pool and he already swam in it and he will sit on the steps and try to swim, but hes learning.

- NOT a good idea - #1 ) hes a puppy now - expect a dead puppy if you pu t it in the ocean sea or whereever. 2 ) NOT all dogs can swim !!! you'd think hey could but they cant & lots of them HATE water 3 ) u could train him to just sit on the board while on the sad - but I don't reccomend puting the boardon water with the pup on it - or even doing that when its older
- There is only one way.......... let him sit back and watchall of you. If he wants too, he will. It could take a long, long time. But the choice (and never EVER forget this.....is his) lol
- Hey I'm teaching my dog to surf.So far I can get him on the board and stay put and pull him around.I don't live close to the ocean or anything but the next time we go to the beach my dogs ready. Here what I did. 1. Left him swim around in the water close to me 2.Dipped the board under him while he was swimming 3. Gave him his command to stay 4.Used his toy to keep focus on me and his toy instead of what was going on so I could pull him around 5.Kept repeating until he felt comfortable People get a kick out of seeing my dog on the board with me pulling the string he stay balanced and everything Note;it takes the dog a little time to understand the need for balance Good Luck and make it fun so he want to do it for you.
