Surfing
Universities with surfing clubs?
Can anyone tell me which universities have surfing clubs or surfing teams (surf as in board and salt water not internet) or are located within 2 hours of great surfing in the U.S.? My son is interested in a degree in Business so most universities will offer that plan.. So far, I have found only two universities but am looking for others to present to my son as possible options. Actually, his interested are surfing and tennis and wants to major in business and culinary arts. Thanks for your help.

- Pepperdine, UCLA, USC, Cal for surfing. For Culinary and business, look for a school that offers "Hospitality," which is basically Hotel, Restaurant, & Casino Managemene. Get his undergrad in that and maybe business, and then go to Culinary school (Culinary Institute or Cordon Bleu) for a Masters.
- Focus your search on schools in Florida and in California. Check UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, Long Beach State U, and USC in CA. Also check Daytona Beach Community College and Flagler College, both in Florida. DBCC and Flagler are directly on the Atlantic, which is where the surfing scene is. If he's willing to drive less than 2 hours, he can also check into Florida State and the University of Florida. If you're willing, also check the University of Hawaii. I focused you on the big three - HI, CA and FL, but surfing pops up at schools all up and down the east and west coasts. Even in NY!
